Australia’s economy grew by 0.4% in the June quarter and 2.1% over the year. But GDP per person was flat during the quarter, which helps explain why the headline may not match what people feel around them.
Private business investment fell 0.5% during the quarter, although it remained 10.4% higher than a year earlier. Both numbers matter. One shows a recent pause. The other shows how much investment had already grown.
The economy tells us which way the wind is blowing. Your own numbers tell us whether it is time to set sail.
