Toyota says more than 500,000 Hilux utes already on Australian roads can use HVO100 renewable diesel without modification. This applies to compatible turbo-diesel models built from mid-2015.
There is one catch. Wide retail availability and pricing have not been announced. The ute may be ready before the fuel is.
Owners should confirm their vehicle’s engine and fuel compatibility with Toyota before using HVO100.
